Merriman: Let's Carry Momentum Into Semi-Finals
Flanker looking forward to RFU Championship semi-final

James Merriman says that confidence is high ahead of the play-off semi-finals with Cornish Pirates next month.
The flanker, who was named in the Championship ‘Dream Team XV’ for the second year in succession, made his return to first-team action against Doncaster last weekend.
“The win over Doncaster was a positive way to finish the pool stages,” he said. “We knew that the level of intensity would increase during the play-offs, but I think we have coped with it well.
“We’re very proud of our record this season – especially at the Memorial Stadium. It gives the players a lot of confidence as we prepare for the double header with Cornish Pirates.”
The Mennaye Field outfit were the last team to inflict defeat on Bristol – recording an 18-17 win over Middleton’s men back in February.
Merriman added: “Pirates are a good side and we have had two very close battles with them already this season.
“We’ll be focusing on our own game though – we’re in a good run of form and hopefully we can carry that momentum into the semi-finals.
"This week is a good opportunity for the squad to work on a few elements of our game and put the hard work in before the knockout stages.
“We will have two massive games in quick succession so we need to be prepared. I’m sure the supporters will travel in large numbers down to Penzance and fill the Mem in the second leg.”
