Grieve: We're Determined To Put Things Right
Captain calls for improved performance at Meadow Lane
Iain Grieve has called for an improved performance when Bristol head to Meadow Lane to face Nottingham on Sunday (3pm KO).
Liam Middleton’s side lead Pool A by a single point on ten points, with London Welsh currently occupying second spot on nine points.
“It’s a hugely important game for us,” said the flanker. “We didn’t perform anywhere near the levels we know we can against London Welsh.
“The boys have been working hard in training this week and we’re determined to put things right on the pitch.
“We’re still in a strong position in Pool A but we need to ensure that we get back to winning ways at Meadow Lane.”
Nottingham romped to a 30-3 victory over Doncaster last weekend and Grieve expects another challenging encounter on Sunday.
He added: “There are no easy games at this stage of the RFU Championship, so we need to be firing on all cylinders week in, week out.
“Nottingham are a strong, well-organised side and they have the ability to punish us if we aren’t 100% on our game.
“It’s a good opportunity for us to show what character we have in this squad and that we are capable of bouncing back.”
