Five Bristol Ladies Called Up For England

England Women face crunch match with France Women in Paris

08th March 2012 published by Tom Tainton

Five Bristol Ladies have been named in England Women’s starting line up for the potential RBS Six Nations title decider against France on Sunday at the Stade Charlety in Paris (12.45pm KO).

Marlie Packer switches from openside to blindside, Sophie Hemming starts at prop while Kay Wilson is named on the wing.

Kim Oliver and Izyy Noel-Smith are included among the replacements as England seek to continue their unbeaten start to the campaign.

England, who head into Sunday’s match on the back of victories over Scotland, Italy and Wales, could secure a seventh consecutive title this year, having already notched 123 points and conceded just 3.

“We have performed well over the last three games but we are now at the business end of the championship and it is important that we have consistency in the starting line up,” said Head Coach Gary Street.

“This is a strong England side ready for a very big game against a powerful French outfit that’ll be looking to upset our run.”

The game is available to watch on Sunday via the red button on Sky Sports 2HD.

Meanwhile, Bristol’s Becky Hughes and Megan Oaten will start for England Women U20s against France, while Claire Molloy starts in the back row for Ireland Women versus Scotland Women at Ashbourne RFC on Friday (7.30pm KO).
