A View From The Terraces: Rotherham Titans
Blackthorn Pete believes Rotherham Titans will provide a stern test
After what seems an age - but is in fact only 3 weeks, Bristol return to the Memorial Stadium on Sunday afternoon with the visit of Rotherham Titans.
The Titans were our nemesis back in October when we suffered a thumping 44-6 defeat just a week after our famous injury time win over London Welsh.
So how can we expect Sunday’s encounter to turn out? Well, Bristol will be keen to exact some revenge as well as steadying things as we start our run-in to the play-off phase of the Championship season.
But Titans will be confident that they can get a result. Their League position suggests that they might be one of the dark horses come playoff time and they will certainly be targeting a top four finish.
Rotherham are looking forward to the next phase with some ambition, having recently signed scrum half Dale Farnham from Plymouth Albion as well as back rower Tom Armes on dual registration from Leicester Tigers.
Bristol have made some signings of their own in the past couple of weeks including centre Luke Eves returning from Newcastle and flanker Henry Vanderglas from ACT Brumbies.
These captures, along with the excellent news that several players have already signed for next season, provide another boost to the upbeat atmosphere that has surrounded the club.
Given Titans’ recent form, which has included defeats at the hands of Esher and London Welsh, Bristol are more than capable of getting back to winning ways. We must come out of the blocks strongly and impose ourselves early.
So let’s get out in force on Sunday as we start our push for the playoffs. We are the 16th man and we can make a difference.
C’mon Bris.
