At the end of every Premiership Rugby Academy Camp throughout the Guinness Premiership, all participants get the opportunity to display their skills in the O2 sponsored Kick, Pass Run Challenge or KPRC as it is more widely known.

The challenge gives every player the chance to show off what they have learnt over the duration of the course by completing each of the following tasks.

THE KICK

A mat that looks a bit like an archery target is placed on the floor in front of you, all you have to do is kick the ball so it hits the target without bouncing first.

You get 5 points for hitting the white outer mat, 10 for hitting the inner blue mat, 20 for the next ring in and 50 for the bullseye.

Sound easy?  Well I can assure you that it isn’t.

Without doubt the most difficult of the KPRC disciplines, this task will sort the men and women out from the boys and girls.

Don’t worry if you think you are not a kicker, you will be taught all you need to know on the course; last season’s highest points scorer was a prop who thought he couldn’t kick!

If you are 9 years old or younger, you stand 5 metres away from the target, if you are aged between 10 and 13 you stand 10 metres away.  If you are aged between 14 and 18 you stand 22 metres away.

You get three attempts each and your score is added up to give a grand total.

THE PASS

There is a sheet that fills the underside of the rugby posts crossbar and it is filled with a variety of different sized holes.

All you have to do is pass the ball through a hole, sound easy?  Well, each hole is a different size and carries a different score rating, the smaller the hole, the higher the points you get for passing the ball through it.

If you are 9 years old or younger, you stand 2 metres away from the target; if you are aged between 10 and 13, you stand 3 metres away.  If you are aged between 14 and 18, you stand 5 metres away.

Oh, and you only get three chances to get the ball through a hole.

The aim is to get the highest cumulative score.

Your dilemma is, do you go for a big hole that is easy, or do you go for a small hole and risk missing it and scoring nothing?  The choice will be yours.

THE RUN

Test all your Speed, Agility and Quickness skills on this circuit.

A player’s ability to accelerate, change direction and decelerate will be tested against the clock.

Each player starts with a score of 120, the time you take to complete the course (in seconds) is then deducted from that score of 120, leaving you with a final points total.  Follow the course in the quickest time possible to attain the highest points score.

TWICKENHAM GRAND FINAL

Aside from getting the satisfaction of beating your course mates, top scorers from each age group will go through to a Grand Final that will be held at Twickenham during the Guinness Premiership final!

An awesome prize and great way to finish each of the camps.

You never know, if you finish top of your group, you could be on your way to London to compete against the best of the rest from the other Premiership Academies.
