James Merriman joined Bristol Rugby at the beginning of the 2009/10 season. The Welsh-born flanker brought with him a wealth of international honours, representing Wales at U21 level and International Sevens.

Arguably one of the most exciting players in the RFU Championship, Merriman was named in the 2010/11 Championship Dream Team XV. He has made 56 appearances for the Club, scoring 17 times.
