A product of Bristol Rugby Academy, Grieve is the first team captain and an integral part of the side. The flanker has represented England at U19 and U21 level.

Grieve has made 80 first team appearances for Bristol, since taking over the role in June 2010. The 24 year-old was one of the first to commit to the club ahead of the 2011/12 season.
