The department run a variety of programmes that cover a full spectrum of community needs. For example, we run social/moral programmes that use rugby as a method of anger management for ‘disaffected young people’ in ‘designated of need’. At the other end of the scale, we run our hugely popular ‘Super Sunday Matchday Experience’ package which is a fantastic one day introduction to Premiership Rugby.

Bristol Rugby Community Department appreciate the sheer diversity of needs within the Bristol Rugby catchment area and endeavour to provide programmes that can cater for those needs.

If you think you are going to be the next Sam Cox or Rob Higgitt, the Bristol Rugby Premiership Academy Camps will make you a better player and improve your knowledge of the game and give you all the latest techniques of how to play it.

The Bristol Rugby Community Department also run TWO National Schools TAG Rugby Programmes on behalf of EDF Energy and the Wooden Spoon rugby charity for Year 5/6 primary school pupils.  

The EDF Energy National Schools Rugby Programme is aimed at schools that are ‘new’ to rugby and is a fantastic 6 week introduction to rugby using the TAG version of the game.    

The Wooden Spoon Mascots Challenge is a 5 week programme that consists of 2 classroom sessions and 3 practical rugby sessions.  This programme is aimed at schools from ‘deprived areas’ and/or schools situated in designated ‘areas of need’.

The Bristol Rugby Community Department also work closely with Avon Fire & Rescue Service delivering a range of pioneering pilot schemes under the banner of the PHOENIX PROJECTS. 

These pilot schemes range from the delivery of Anger Management Programmes to TAG rugby programmes for young people of all ages. 

One of the most popular one day programmes we run in the Bristol Rugby Community Department, is the Super Sunday Matchday Experience.  It is a fantastic introduction to Premiership Rugby if you have not had the chance to go before. 

The Super Sunday Matchday Experience continues to grow from year to year so if you have already enjoyed a Super Sunday in the last year or so you will know how much fun it is and if you have not attended in the last 12 months I guarantee it will be a completely new experience for you and your club mates! 

The Bristol Rugby Community Department continue to make rapid progress in providing meaningful and enjoyable community basic programmes that cater for all of the Bristol Rugby ‘community’ since its reforming in January 2007.
