The Fun Stars Multi-Sport Programme provides primary school aged young people (KS1/2) with fundamental sports skills and improved physical competence.
We use a wide variety of activities emphasising fun, enjoyment and a sense of achievement. Pupils develop their physical literacy and an understanding of the relationship between exercise and well-being in a format that supports the schools P.E. curriculum.
The programme introduces a healthy, but sensitive approach to competition through Agility; Balance; Coordination; Running; Stopping; Jumping; Aiming; Throwing; Catching; Striking; Chasing; Dodging and Skipping inputs.
Bristol Rugby Community Foundation always endeavour to work with schools to find a format of delivery that takes into account the size of the school and resources available at that school. For example:
Morning Delivery
A breakfast club (45 minutes) followed by two hours in-curriculum coaching with two coaches per class or this could be split into 3 x 40 minute sessions followed by a lunchtime club.
Afternoon Delivery
Two hours in-curriculum coaching, with two coaches per class, often split into 3 x 40 minute sessions, followed by an after-school club.

What do the schools think?
"The sessions were very useful to me, watching sports professionals work with my class - I learnt some great techiniques and will defineitely be more confident delivering indoor PE sessions."
