Published on 22nd November 2010 by Bristol Rugby

Voting has opened for the public to decide who should be honoured in a new Walk of Fame at Bristol Zoo Gardens.

The Bristol Walk of Fame will be a trail of specially designed plaques within the grounds of the Zoo, with each plaque bearing the names of famous inductees. The attraction is being created in association with Walk of Fame Ltd trademark owners and operators of cultural attractions in the UK.

The city’s most renowned people, places and icons from across the historic, creative, sporting and wildlife spectrum will be celebrated in the new attraction which opens at the Zoo next Easter as part of the Zoo’s 175th birthday celebrations and Bristol Rugby is one of the nominations!!!

From Banksy, Massive Attack and Justin Lee Collins, to Derren Brown, Tony Robinson or the Wurzels, Bristol has had its fair share of famous faces.

A list of 80 candidates has been compiled following an appeal for suggestions from the public. The 40 most popular will be included in the Bristol Walk of Fame. There will also be 10 honorary icons which will automatically be included in the attraction.

To vote for Bristol Rugby, simply visit the Zoo’s website at www.bristolzoo.org.uk/polls/vote-for-the-walk-of-fame.
