Captain of a Millfield School side that have enjoyed considerable success during the campaign, Sheedy is one of the most promising young fly-halves in the UK.

The 18 year-old has represented Bristol United twice, featuring in the narrow defeats to Worcester Cavaliers and Oxford University.

“Callum’s skill set and the way he wants to play the game are an excellent match to how we are looking to develop our style of rugby in the coming seasons,” Academy Manager Mike Hall told bristolrugby.co.uk.

“It made sense to bring Callum in to be part of the Academy. It’s an excellent opportunity for him to further his development.

“The coaches at Millfield speak very highly of him and we believe Callum has the attributes to be successful in the professional game.”

Sheedy added: “I’m delighted to sign my first professional contract with Bristol Rugby – I believe this is the ideal environment to continue my progression and develop as a player.

“I’m excited to link up with the squad in the summer and I’m looking forward to working hard and gaining valuable experience from the senior guys around me.”
