EPDG trio represent England U18s in 20-8 win

An England U18 side featuring EPDG Gold members Nick Carpenter, Callum Braley and Steve Uren recorded a 20-8 victory over Scotland U18s in Hawick.

Braley helped himself to a try, his second in as many games for his country, as England completed preparations for the FIRA/AER tournament in Madrid later this month.

The scrum-half opened the scoring inside fifteen minutes, before Gloucester flanker Ross Moriarty stretched England’s advantage with a converted try.

England posted a third try through Exeter back-rower Joel Conlon to put the game out of Scottish reach.

Head Coach John Fletcher said: “We’re very pleased with the performance, we stepped up on our last game against France (a 18-16 win) and that was good to see.

“There’s definitely more to come from this group though, we left a few opportunities out there but overall we’re happy.

The FIRA/AER tournament is just around the corner and it will be tough to pick a squad because a lot of the guys have put their hand up to be counted.”
