Carpenter Extends Academy Deal
Promising centre agrees extension
Nick Carpenter has agreed a two-year extension to his existing deal.
"Nick has shown through his attitude and levels of execution in training that he has a very bright future"
The highly-rated Academy centre – who has represented England at U18 and U19 level – has made two first team appearances in the B&I Cup this season, before being sidelined with a ligament injury.
“We are delighted Nick has chosen to extend his contract at Bristol,” Academy Manager Mike Hall told bristolrugby.co.uk.
“Although he hasn’t has as much gametime as he would have like this year – due to injury – Nick has shown through his attitude and levels of execution in training that he has a very bright future.
“He’s a distributing, ball playing twelve in the Mike Catt mould – exactly what the first team coaches are looking for in that position.”
A graduate of SGS Filton College, Carpenter has been dual-registered with Clifton RFC during the 2013/14 campaign.
He said: “I’m delighted to be committing my future to the Club. I’ve relished the challenge of stepping up to the professional environment this season and it’s been a benefit to learn from the experienced guys around me.
“I love playing in front of the Bristol supporters, it’s an incredible feeling. I’m determined to keep working hard and take my chance when it comes.”
