Slowik Signs New Contract
Two more years for Academy flyer
Auguy Slowik has penned a new contract that will see the Academy flyer remain at Bristol Rugby for a further two years.
“It’s an amazing feeling to pull on the Bristol shirt and score tries in front of the home supporters"
Since joining from SGS Filton College in the summer, the 20 year-old has enjoyed an impressive debut season with the Club – scoring six tries in eight first team appearances.
Slowik – who represented an Emerging England Sevens side in September – is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the most exciting young players in the Greene King IPA Championship.
“The contract extension is just reward for the progress that Auguy has made this season,” Academy Manager Mike Hall told bristolrugby.co.uk.
“We were very clear on his potential when we recruited him, but we’re delighted that he has showcased his talents at first team level so quickly.
“The challenge for Auguy is to keep moving forward, keep his head down and work as hard as possible to continue developing his game.
“He shows a great desire to improve as a person and a player. Auguy’s work-ethic and drive leads us to believe he has a bright future ahead of him.”
Slowik added: “I’m delighted to sign a new contract. It’s been a really special season for me so far and I feel I’m improving as a player all the time.
“It’s an amazing feeling to pull on the Bristol shirt and score tries in front of the home supporters – I want to do that for years to come.
“Right now, I’m focused on fighting for a first team place and helping the team achieve a place in the play-offs.”
