Academy prop signs new deal
Ellis Genge has committed his future to Bristol Rugby, agreeing a new two-year deal.
"I want to establish myself in the first team, so I’m determined to keep working hard to achieve that”
The Academy prop – who has made two first team appearances in the B&I Cup so far this season – touched down in the 62-7 victory over Gala.
A tenacious, dynamic front rower, Genge is one of the most highly-regarded young prospects in the UK.
Academy Manager Mike Hall told bristolrugby.co.uk: “We are delighted that Ellis has chosen to stay at Bristol and continue his development here.
“When we recruited Ellis and discussed the move from back row to prop, we all understood that it was a long-term project.
“For Ellis to commit for another two years enables us to see this transition through. His potential is enormous.
“Ellis is someone that, through application and hard work, can really push on and excel in the professional environment.”
Genge added: “I’ve really enjoyed my first season with Bristol – it’s been a great challenge to step up to senior level and learn the game alongside experienced professionals.
“I’m hungry to be successful – I want to establish myself in the first team, so I’m determined to keep working hard to achieve that.”
