Lock set for RBS Six Nations opener

Joe Joyce is set for his international debut when Ireland U20s face Scotland U20s in the opening round of the RBS Six Nations on Friday, 31 January (7.05pm KO).

The Academy lock is named in the Irish matchday squad for the first time ahead of the clash at Dubarry Park.

Joyce has made five appearances in the B&I Cup for Bristol so far during the campaign, scoring in the 64-8 defeat of Aberavon at the Memorial Stadium.

“It’s an honour to be called up to the Ireland U20s squad and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to play at international level,” he told

“I’m really enjoying my rugby at Bristol this season and I’ll keep working hard to fight for a place in the Championship squad."
