Bristol U18s Suffer Agonising Wasps Defeat
Wasps U18s 31-24 Bristol U18s
Bristol Academy U18s suffered an agonising 31-24 defeat at the hands of their London Wasps counterparts, conceding a try in what turned out to be the final play of the match.
The visitors had battled back to 24-24, and it looked likely that Mike Hall's men would kick on and pick up their first win of the season.
But a last-gasp opportunist score meant the visitors came away from Maidenhead RFC empty-handed.
The home side took the lead with a fourth-minute penalty, but Bristol responded with an unconverted try from centre Lucas Slowik.
Henry Harper’s touch down kept the scoreboard ticking over and – despite two quickfire Wasps’ tries – Brad Kislingbury’s score gave Bristol a narrow 19-17 lead at the break.
The home side regained the lead before flanker Ed Tait squeezed over in the corner to make it 24-24 with his unconverted try, before Wasps had the final say with their late winner.
