Genge Receives Nine Week Ban
Prop charged with biting opponent
ELLIS Genge was suspended for nine weeks when he appeared before an Rugby Football Union Disciplinary panel this evening.
Genge, who was sent off in the National League 2 South match between Hartpury RFC and Cambridge RFC on Saturday September 21, pleaded guilty to the charge of an act contrary to good sportsmanship, contrary to Law 10.4(m) by biting an opponent.
The player’s suspension runs from September 23 until November 24, 2013 and he will be free to play again on November 25, 2013.
The hearing was held at the Bristol Filton Holiday Inn hotel and the panel comprised Daniel White (chairman), Nick Dark and John Doubleday.
Genge was also ordered to pay £200 costs.
