Below Par Bristol Crushed By Quins
Harlequins U18s 50-12 Bristol Academy U18s
A sluggish second half display at Surrey Sports Park saw Bristol Academy U18s go down 50-12 at the hands of a rampant Harlequins outfit.
Trailing 12-7 at the interval, Mike Hall’s side suffered a second half capitulation, shipping six tries – four of which came in just twenty minutes.
The visitors had taken an early lead when Alex Colborne took advantage of some neat handling to cross under the posts for a converted try.
But Quins hit back minutes before the break and, despite Lucas Slowik’s late consolation, looked in complete control throughout the second period.
“As a group we are extremely disappointed,” said Academy Manager Mike Hall. “Not by the score line, but by the standard of our performance.
“We set ourselves minimum levels of performance in both attack and defence and fell way short of those today.
“We’ve got some time off now to go away and reflect and will regroup after Christmas. Exeter Chiefs on January 13 at North Bristol will pose us a big challenge and we’ll see a marked improvement on today’s display.”
