Bristol Rugby U16s to play in RFU Academies tournament

Bristol’s young guns will be showcasing their talent against some of the best players in the country on Friday.

The Bristol Rugby U16s will play Saracens, Exeter and Harlequins in the RFU Southern Academies Tournament at Bristol Grammar School Sportsground at Failand.

Coaching duo Keith Leaker and Neil Loader have been putting the squad through their paces for the last four weeks.

Bristol kick off against Saracens at 1.30pm, before facing Exeter Chiefs at 2.15pm. The U16s round off their fixtures against Harlequins at 3pm.

"Selecting a squad for the tournament has been extremely tough,” said Academy Manager Mike Hall.

“All of the players have acquitted themselves extremely well and shows that the combination clubs are continuing to produce good quality rugby players.

"The group have been introduced to the values of the Club and all we have asked of them is that they represent the shirt on Friday, living up to the Club’s values.

“I am really looking forward to seeing how the players have progressed since the Harrow tournament in May."

Support from Bristol Rugby fans would be welcomed at the BGS Failand Playing Fields on Friday.
