Eadie Scores But Scotland Lose

Flanker scores for Scotland in narrow 17-12 defeat

13th June 2012 published by Tom Tainton

Mitch Eadie crossed the whitewash for his country as Scotland concluded their Pool C fixtures with a 17-12 defeat to Argentina in Cape Town.

Despite controlling possession for long periods, Scotland found it difficult to find a way through a stubborn Argentine defence, although prop Jamie Bhatti and Bristol's Eadie touched down in the second half.

Head Coach Peter Wright said: "We made far too many errors today and let Argentina get in our faces. In the first-half we never had the ball for more than two phases.

"It’s so frustrating because we then played so well in the second-half and were the better team."

Scotland under-20 will compete in the third-tier rankings in the IRB Junior World Championship this coming Sunday, taking on Italy in the ninth place semi-final (17 June, kick-off 11.30am UK time).
