Bracken joined Bristol Rugby from London Wasps in the summer of 2007 on a two year contract and went on to make 14 appearances in total for the club, five starts and nine from the bench.

He endured an injury affected first campaign with the club when he suffered a shoulder injury in an early friendly against Irish friendly Leinster which kept him sidelined until the end of March and restricted him to two starts and three replacement appearances.

2008-9 has seen Bracken struggle to displace Jason Hobson and Darren Crompton at the tight head position. His only starts have been in the European Challenge Cup and EDF Energy Cup and it was mutually agreed to allow the Irishman to leave the club.

Head Coach Richard Hill today wished Bracken well:

"Bracks is a lovely man and a very good player but it hasn't really worked out for him here at Bristol. The shoulder injury ruined his first season and we've had two other very good props in Jason Hobson and Darren Crompton in front of him as well as Wayne Thompson returning from Oxford University."

"So, we sat down with him and decided that it would be in the best interests of both parties to reach a mutual agreement and end his contract early."

"I understand that he has now decided to try and further his career with Harlequins and he goes with our best wishes."
