Kevin Maggs is the latest Bristol Rugby player to do his bit in the community next weekend when he fires the starting pistol for the Vision 5K fun run.
Sense, the national deafblind charity, is calling for Bristol and South West runners to take part in a unique race that’s set to challenge our senses of sight and hearing.
Brand new to the running circuit, Vision 5K will take place in Eastville Park, Bristol on Sunday 20th July 2008 and is based on a winning formula that has enjoyed huge success in the US.

According to organiser, Harriette Rothwell:
“We hope runners of all ages will join in the fun. Vision 5K is unique and for at least one lap of the race, runners can choose to take part blindfolded with a guide to challenge their perceptions and experiences of sight and hearing.”
Vision 5K will take place in Eastville Park at 11.00.am For more information or to sign up, please contact Harriette Rothwell at harriette.rothwell@sense.org.uk or 0207 014 9362

The race is just one of a series of Vision 5K events taking place across the UK through the summer months and will raise vital funds to help support deafblind people in the South West region.
Other recent player appearances have included Luke Arscott and David Blaney support a family fun day and fun run at Ashton Court called 'Pants in the Park'.
The event was held to raise money for the charity Prostate UK and the players helped to start the race, hand out certificates and medals for the participants.
Finally, James Phillips and Lee Robinson were in attendance at the recent Bristol Harbour Fun Run organised by the British Heart Foundation which helped raise awareness and funds for research into heart disease.
Again, the players launched the event and were at the finish line to hand out awards to the runners as well as posing for pictures and signing autographs.
