At an eerie and almost deserted Franklin's Gardens, Northampton Wanderers and Bristol United served up an action packed Guinness 'A' League match on Monday afternoon.

Over 300 youngsters took part in the challenge during Bristol Rugby’s Academy camps in the 2007/8 season, so reaching the final was a huge achievement in itself.
Congratulations must go to this year’s age group winners, Callum MacTaggart (9 and under), Mitchell Mays (10-13 years) and Andy Jones (14-18 years), who all scored highly, winning the honour to step out on to the hallowed turf of Twickenham. A truly memorable experience for all concerned!
Here, Andy Jones of Plympton, Plymouth writes his account of his amazing experience.
“It was a very cold and frosty three days up at Clifton RFC in December 2007, when I attended the Bristol Rugby Academy Skills Camp."
"On the final day we all took part in the O2 Kick, Pass, Run Challenge, but I did not think that I had a high enough score for the final so I thought nothing more about it."
"On a Saturday morning in April 2008 I received a phone call and was told that I had won a place at the final of the O2 KPRC at Twickenham, with a score of 328 points."
"I kept texting my mum asking if this was for real!! I was excited but worried about having to go out in front of all those supporters, and the TV cameras."
"I was told that the final O2 KPRC competition would be held on the same day as the Guinness Premiership Final, and as we later found out there was a record 81,600 rugby mad fans there. Part of my prize for reaching this stage was also four tickets so my family was able to come and cheer me on too."
"On the day of the final (31st May) we left home at 4 O'clock in the morning, but I managed to sleep all the way to Twickenham."
"After meeting the KPRC people we spent about 2 hours receiving coaching with all the Premiership camp coaches. In the afternoon we learnt that we would make up the 'Guard of Honour'."
Before going into the stadium we took part in the kicking and running challenge. I wasn't sure how well I scored but thought I was about midway. A few practice throws at the passing challenge had me worried a bit as I
was struggling a little with my not so good arm."
"At the kick off we waved on both teams to the pitch. I was lucky as I had a London Wasps flag to wave (even though I follow Bristol!!). I saw my favourite player No 8 Lawrence Dallaglio run out onto the turf for his last game."
"In the stands during the first half I felt worried but excited, happy but a little sick that I would be going out for the last challenge. So when the half time whistle blew we all ran out onto the famous turf in front of those
fans. I tried my best and concentrated on my passing and scored 6 out of 6."
"All the players from the KPRC went up after the match to find out who had won their age groups. When the KPRC man read out my name I was so shocked - I really did not think I would win."
"My mum cried and my dad hid behind his camera, I am sure he had wet eyes as well."
"My prize for winning was a certificate and a choice of a signed and framed shirt from any Premiership team. As it was Lawrence Dallaglio’s last match and I had already had a signed shirt from Bristol, I chose London Wasps for my shirt.”
