Bristol Rugby : Dave Hilton Retirement Dinner Dance details

It's now fairly well known that Bristol Rugby prop Dave Hilton will be hanging up his boots and retiring from professional rugby. To draw a veil on a magnificent professional career, Hilts will be having a Retirement Dinner Dance.

Dave initially joined Bristol for the 1986/87 season and was a regular for the Colts for 2 years. He broke into the United side in 88/89 and made his first team debut against the Met Police on 27th September 1989 aged just 19. Despite scoring 2 tries in that game he only scored another 5 in the next 185 games! Dave played through to the end of the 91/92 season having played 56 senior games and returned to captain the club in the summer of 2003. In total (to date and he hasn't stopped just yet!) Dave has played 186 games for 1st team (joint 74th highest in the clubs history) scoring 7 tries.

He has started 93 league games and been used as replacement 19 times (6th highest for the club) and scored 2 tries.

His other games have been cup 14+3, Europe 5+2 and friendlies 46+4 scoring 5 tries.

Hilts has also played in 58 games for the United scoring 7 tries.

So, Hilts' place in Bristol folklore is well and truly guaranteed and his Retirement Dinner, on Saturday September 27th, will be an occasion to remember as he invites friends, players and supporters alike to join him to celebrate his career.
